WHAT IS A TEMPORARY WORK AGENCY?

• A Temporary Work Agency (ETT) is a plot which activity consists in “hiring workers” to other companies that rent them and use them for activities of all kind.
- The hired worker gets his/her salary from the ETT and depends on it although working at another place.
- The hired worker can be fired at any moment, does not earn any additional pay for length of service nor any other complements that are usually paid to workers with normal contracts.
• ETT workers earn –as an average- a 40% less pay than the workers contracted by the company they work for.
• ETT workers are subject to ETT labour agreements instead of to the ones of the company they work for.
• ETT workers are second class workers since, although they carry out the same tasks, they earn less than their workmates and do not have the same rights and guarantees.
