The 22nd Congress of the International Workers Association (IWA)

The International Workers Association (IWA) will have its 22nd Congress the 3rd (Credencials) 4th, 5th and 6th of December 2004 in Granada in Spain. The Congress is held during dramatic circumstances caused by today`s capitalism:

The economical, social and cultural conquest and expansion, called globalization, is done by force and the increasingly militarized capitalism is directing the socalled “War against Terrorism” against the working class and its conditions and rights. The freedom for the capitalists means slavery for the vast majority, and while the profit is privatized and the rich are getting richer, the costs, risks and
oppression are socialized. The mobility of the investors is a freedom from obligations towards the employees, the old, the young, the ill, the unemployed, the nature and the communities.

The slogan of the 22nd Congress is, No War between People - No Peace between Classes and the delegates from the Sections and Friends of the IWA will be discussing: The militarist and repressive capitalism, the failure of the reformist unions, the flexibilization of the labour market, the defence and expansion of the anarchosyndicalism and the IWA, and the need for direct actions and international solidarity – for workers self-emancipation!
