Political Arrests in Belgrade - Freedom for Anarcho-Syndicalists

ABOUT THE CASE

On Saturday, Sept. 4, five* political activists were arrested in Belgrade on trumped up charges. The five, Tadej Kurepa, Ivan Vulović, Sanja Dojkić, Ratibor Trivunac and Nikola Mitrovic, are activists in or associates of the Anarcho-Syndicalist Initiative, the Serbian section of the International Workers’ Association (IWA). (* The sixth person sought by police, Ivan Savic, was also arrested some days later.)

To finish with the bosses and build a free, revolutionary workers' alternative!

First of May 2009

Workers of the world celebrate this year's First of May with a new peril looming over their heads—The Global Financial Crisis. Yet, every capitalist crisis is a crisis for the bosses and politicians and an opportunity for the workers! Interests of world's working masses are always sharply opposed to the interests of our rulers! We must always recognize this simple and profound fact and use it to promote our liberation.

Against the State and Capitalism, in Memory of the Haymarket Martyrs!

First of May 2008

Another Mayday has come, and with it the time to remember, in struggle, our comrades – five anarchist workers who died in a war between classes that we are still fighting today. They were murdered by the State because they didn't accept without resistance that they had bosses who lived off of their labour, because they didn't accept that the State and the Capital had power over their lives.

For Freedom and Equality: Direct Action and Solidarity!

First of May 2007

These are the days when we celebrate the great victory of Chicago workers of 1886, and commemorate our five anarchist workers comrades who paid with their lives our right to an eight-hour workday. But in these days, in May 2007, we must also notice how this hard won right, as well as many other rights, is slipping away further and further, as the capitalist machinery is now trying to “liberate” itself from obligations that we imposed on it through our struggles and direct action.

Concerning the 23rd IWA-Congress

The 23rd Congress in Manchester decided that the Secretariat of the IWA shall be maintained by the ASI until the next Congress which will be organized by the COB-AIT in Brazil in December 2008.

The comrades of ASI elects the new Secretariat in January 2007, and until then we will as the outgoing Secretariat receive and answer correspondence.

Besides this, the SF will consider to take a seat (treasurer) in the Secretariat, and their yes or no to this will be decided at their National Conference in March/April 2007. Until then the dues to the IWA must be paid to the present account!

Anarchosyndicalist greetings
from the outgoing Secretariat

About the significance of anarchosyndicalism

I would like to refer to the analysis developed by José Bondía in the March issue (number 72) of CNT with objectivity but with a certain degree of concern.

Defence of the IWA and anarchosyndicalism*

The Secretariat has in the period requested the Sections and Friends of sending us information “about parallel organizations using the initials IWA-AIT”, documenting the confusion they are making. The SP of the Regional Committee of the CNT-AIT of Catalunya- Balears sent in 2005 an information against the “Joaquin Costa CNT”.and the USI-AIT has in the past forwarded information about the “USI- Rome”.
