On December 9-11, 2022, the International Workers' Association held its international Congress in the city of Alcoy, Spain. Delegates arrived from around the globe and we were particularly glad to see a large number of comrades from South America, Asia and the Asia-Pacific Region. Hundreds of people visited the event and accompanying cultural programs organized in the days leading up to and during the Congress. The hall was full of people and one could get publications from all over the world.
The work of the Congress was rather intense and lasted the full three days in the room packed with delegates. A number of comrades who were not able to travel also joined us online.
During the Congress, we were able to discuss the results presented by working groups, such as the group responsible for developing stategies for newer and smaller organizations to increase workplace organizing activities. A text was presented to the Congress which we hope the Sections and Friends will find useful.
The “Week” was established in 2019 by the International Workers’ Association (IWA) to highlight the phenomenon of unpaid wages and the possibilities to fight back using anarcho-syndicalist methods. From 10th to 16th October the IWA unions drew attention to this issue in various ways. In the following report we inform about activities in France, Poland, Russia and Ukraine, Serbia, Slovakia and Spain.
Del 9 al 11 de diciembre de 2022, la Asociación Internacional de Trabajadores realizó su Congreso internacional en la ciudad de Alcoi, España. Llegaron delegadxs de todo el mundo y nos alegró especialmente ver un gran número de compañerxs de América del Sur, Asia y la región de Asia-Pacífico. Cientos de personas visitaron el evento y acompañaron los programas culturales organizados en los días previos y durante el Congreso. El salón estaba lleno de gente y se podían conseguir publicaciones de todo el mundo.
El trabajo del Congreso fue bastante intenso y duró los tres días completos en la sala repleta de delegadxs. Varios compañerxs que no pudieron viajar también se unieron a nosotrxs en línea.
Durante el Congreso, pudimos discutir los resultados presentados por los grupos de trabajo, como el grupo responsable de desarrollar estrategias para organizaciones más nuevas y más pequeñas para aumentar las actividades de organización en el lugar de trabajo. Se presentó un texto al Congreso que esperamos sea de utilidad para las Secciones y Amigos.
La “Semana” fue establecida por la Asociación Internacional de los Trabajadores (AIT) para remarcar el fenómeno del impago de salarios y la posibilidad de combatirlos mediante los métodos anarcosindicalistas. Del 10 al 16 de Octubre, los sindicatos de la AIT llamaron la atención sobre esta cuestión de diversas maneras. En el siguiente informe se informa sobre las actividades que se han llevado a cabo en Francia, Polonia, Rusia y Ucrania, Serbia, Eslovaquia y España.
